Ali Gilbert is a self-taught singer/songwriter from Tamworth (UK). He has been performing music since the age of 18. From his early 20’s he has written his own original material and since gone on to release his debut EP ‘Truth Be Told’ which includes five tracks including popular singles ‘Runaway‘ and ‘Only You‘ based on real life personal experiences about love rejection and mental health.

His main influences in music are artists such as Sam Fender, Ed Sheeran, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, The 1975, James Morrison and Paolo Nutini.

His new single ‘Neon Paradise’ will be out July 22nd.

“This song was written about a vivid dream in which I was randomly walking around my local city and surrounded by all kinds of animals, people and notably gigantic different coloured butterflies. It was almost like half city half jungle and a weird coloured purple sky – almost as if I was in some kind of parallel universe which I didn’t want to wake up from as I was super intrigued by what I was going to see next! I remember waking up and telling a friend at work and my relatives about it and as you can imagine I was getting some strange looks in return!”

“This release, although it falls under a similar indie/pop genre, is completely different to my previous releases in its tempo and overall feel having a more chilled out pop fun vibe to it which you could listen to either day or night and dance to!”

“This song like all my previous releases started with just myself and the acoustic guitar. When I came up with the chorus, I instantly knew I needed a catchy chord progression to justify the feel I wanted to achieve when listening to the song. Once I had this down I was ready for the studio whereby my fantastic producer Ben Stancombe of AMS Music Group produced mixed and mastered the track.”
