“This track was written at a time when I was experimenting with the use of SUS2 and SUS4 chords on the guitar – I often explore music theory and you can hear this in the track. As a musician I always try to learn something new every day and I remember this being the case when writing ‘Lost Here Without You’. As an artist I think it’s important to always keep learning. It’s one of the great joys of being in a creative industry. Music is never mundane and is always teaching us something about the world. But music isn’t all about theory and in these studio sessions hopefully I captured the emotion/feeling of the music and allowed the lyric to tell the story.”
“The artwork came from the ‘photoshoot’ for my new album. The album has various themes reoccurring throughout – specifically our destruction of the world we live in. For this reason I wanted the artwork for both the album and it’s singles to reflect a world in decay so I choose the ruins of an old English Abbey as the backdrop for the images. Hopefully the artwork compliments the themes of the songs.”
“It’s always a pleasure to share new music with everyone and from this perspective it’s exciting to release a new single. However, there is always a very scary element to any release. As an indie artist without the backing of a corporate marketing budget it’s hard to be heard so I rely on my loyal followers and on new people finding me and loving my style. I hope those that do stumble across my music stay around and keep listening – and maybe even make it to a live show.”
