New Release – Snow on Christmas Day by Demi Michelle
Demi Michelle will release her Christmas song ‘Snow on Christmas Day’ on November 26th. A pre-save is available.

What inspired you to write this song?
“I got inspired to write this song on Christmas Day last year. I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the Christmas magic is extra special when it snows on Christmas Day. I love to be home for Christmas because, of course, there’s no place like home for the holidays, and seeing a blanket of snow on the ground makes the holiday season feel complete. When I woke up to a white Christmas last year, I wrote the song. I had so much fun writing this one because it’s super fun and is full of Christmas cheer. It’s completely different from my original Christmas song I released last year, ‘All I Want This Christmas’ which is a piano ballad. Because I’m going country with my sound, I wanted to make ‘Snow on Christmas Day’ a super festive country-pop song. I always love when I get a spark of inspiration when I least expect it, and nothing beats writing a new song on Christmas Day.”
What’s your favorite memory from writing and/or recording?
“As always, I had the best time recording this song. Huge shoutout to my producer, Bob McCutcheon, guitarist, Luke Wood, and drummer, Sophia Elliott, for helping me bring this one to life.”
“I have so many memories from recording, but I’ll have to say that recording the sleigh bells was the number-one highlight. After Sophia wrapped up recording the drums, she got the idea to have sleigh bells in the song. This didn’t even cross my mind, and Bob and I were like, yes, this is such a fantastic idea. Since Sophia had already finished and I had a session in a few days, Bob suggested for me to record the sleigh bells. Let me tell you, it was super fun and way harder than it looks. The bells were super heavy, and even though I’m a classically trained musician, percussion is a whole other level of playing in time and consistently. There were lots of laughs while I was recording the bells, and it’s so cool hearing them on the track. Also, I wore my Santa hat while recording. I mean, why not? All in all, recording the sleigh bells is hands down one of my favorite memories.”
What are you hoping to achieve with this release?
“I hope ‘Snow on Christmas Day’ brings holiday cheer to my listeners all around the world. I love Christmas music so much, so releasing another original Christmas song is super special.”
“Also, I hope this song establishes a strong introduction to my music coming next year. I feel like country music is where I’m meant to be, and this song captures my newfound love for country music while also showing my pop roots. Some of my upcoming releases are more country than others, so I think as a country-pop song, ‘Snow on Christmas Day’ is the perfect song to begin my sonic shift.”
