Leigh is an Australian based singer/songwriter/guitarist, with a lengthy history performing in both the Melbourne indie and cover scene. His music can be best described as guitar based, melodic pop/rock, ranging from heavy and beat driven, to softer and sometimes poignant ballads.
His latest track ‘These Times’ will be out on October 29th. A pre-save is available here.
“I was inspired to write ‘These Times’ by reflecting back on the last 18 months and the impact and changes it has brought upon so many of us, and how it has brought people together in spite of us seemingly being seperated. I felt that I needed to express my gratitude to those who have not only used my music and live stream performances as refuge, but also who have helped me get through such a difficult and uncertain period.”
“The song carries special meaning to me, although I wanted it to be a quite light hearted, feel-good and up-beat song, not too deep and morose. It is largely celebrating my very loyal audience who supported my music and tuned into my live stream shows religiously every week during the pandemic. Previously I was gigging several times a week, and to have that taken away so suddenly would have left a huge hole in my life without having my live stream audience encouraging me to keep playing and moving forward.”
“The artwork is the result of my amazing graphics team! I wanted to play on the song title, and portray the waiting, and patience it has taken to get through, and to reflect on the surreal nature of the circumstances of the last couple of years. My photographer Sharon, and graphic artist Tom, are so talented and brought my vague instructions into being so brilliantly.”
