New Release – You Can Do (What U Wanna Do) by Dizzy Panda ft. Yogishine

Dutch duo Dizzy Panda are about to release a new single on October 8th. Prepare for a collaboration with the Norwegian band Yogishine!

Yogishine are inspired by RnB, Funk and HipHop, which makes a cool combination with the 90s retro sound of Dizzy Panda. The upcoming release has a very laid back style, yet it’s groovy and soulful.

“Some of our listeners mentioned the music reminded them a bit of the early work of Amy Winehouse. I think that’s a huge compliment for all of us. Even though we didn’t try to catch that specific sound, we’re happy if it’s only ‘10% Amy’.”

Below you’ll find a 20 second preview of the animated video. In case you like what you hear, you can use this link to pre-save.

What can you tell us about your collaboration?

“We discovered the work of Yogishine last year. Their track Easy is amazing! On Instagram we noticed a short video of the Yogishine creating proces. We asked Therese if she could do a jam like that for one of our tracks. We sent her three tracks and she picked our instrumental ‘Red Patrick’ to add some lyrics to. She totally surprised us with the lyrics she send us in return, including ad-libs.”

“The mixing and mastering of the song was a bit of a hassle – Kicks and Bass turned out to be in each other’s way. We also had a deadline due to the summer vacation. However, the master wasn’t good enough so we had to postpone the release for about one month. Kristian (Yogishine) gave us some good suggestions on how to fix the mastering issue.”

How did you create the music video?

“The music video was created using three still pictures of Therese. We are planning to release our next 15 track album end of this year. It’ll come with an animated video for each track, so we’ll keep the recipe for ourselves for now – at least until after the release of the album.”

Can’t wait until October 8th? More unreleased work by Dizzy Panda can be found at http://www.musiqcast.com.
