ROJOR is an indie singer-songwriter from North East England, who operates decidedly under the radar. In a society obsessed with celebrity this northern lad has quietly built up a strong reputation and a loyal band of followers via his talent for crafting beautifully written, intelligent and radio friendly songs.
His album ‘Melancholy Songs of the Caged Bird’ will be out on June 25th.
“I would say the album is intelligent guitar-based indie. I am a singer-songwriter with a chill-out vibe and musically the writing and vocal style has a decidedly melancholy element. There are plenty of radio friendly tracks on the album such as ‘Calling Out Around the World’, ‘Man in the Moon’ and ‘American Girl’, whilst deeper cuts examine the issues of ‘climate change’ (‘Rise Up’) and ‘mental health awareness’ (‘Hurts’).”
“The album was written during the ‘lockdown’ months of the COVID-19 pandemic and the title is born out of the unique feelings and experiences of those times. Hopefully, the songs reflect the strange sense of quiet and isolation as well as offering an optimistic look to a new and better future.”
“Hopefully, the album will introduce more people to my music and song-writing. As an artist reaching out to others and sharing my writing is at the heart of the process. I really look forward to playing these songs on stage soon and seeing people out on the road.”
