Ri Wolf will be releasing his new track ‘Pieces‘ tomorrow, 29 January. It’s an indie pop/rock track. Here’s what he had to say about it:
“I wrote this song from the perspective of two parents losing a child. Being a parent of a 7 and 4 year old, it was a gut wrenching process to really dive into what it might feel like to lose a child. Obviously this is something that no one ever wants to imagine or deal with, but it is reality for some. With all of the loss and devastation over the past year that I’ve seen from family and friends, I was just tapping into some of that and hopefully I wrote a song that can bring hope and comfort to those who are grieving.”
“I believe this is powerful song that can touch many people’s lives. I hope it brings me credibility as a songwriter and also just give me an opportunity to connect with more fans who are struggling right now.”
“I recorded and mixed in my home studio. I think many of us have been confined to our houses since COVID-19 and I have just tried to create a space in a closet on the backside of my house where I can record my songs. If there is a will, there is a way!
“About the artwork… I truly believe that every heart can be mended, but it takes time and it takes love and support from those around you. In a time where we can’t be gathering around each other, it feels lonely and it can feel impossible to overcome these things. Life is messy and never as you plan it and we will all go through tribulations…we just need to understand our common struggle and be willing to pick each other up.”
