New Release: Time by Harry Pane ft. Maia Frankowski

Harry Pane (UK) has some impressive Spotify figures. His song ‘Beautiful Life‘ released in 2018 has almost 3,5 million streams on Spotify. Harry gained praise from some big names and has played quite a few gigs in the UK, where he has a great following. He played at some amazing festivals, like Glastonbury, SXSW and Jamie Oliver’s Big Feastival. He even played at the Royal Albert Hall in 2019, where I saw him opening for one of my favourite bands. Yet, he is unbeknown to the wider public.

So, who is Harry Pane? Harry Pane is an indie folk/blues singer-songwriter with a soulful voice and a distinct finger-picking guitar style, reminding me of Nick Drake and John Martyn. Harry writes songs about things that mean something to him personally.

I first saw Harry Pane live in 2017. I’ve seen him play quite a few times since. Every time I see him play, I always wonder, why isn’t he famous already? I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times. He’s very kind and modest.

Maia Frankowski (B) is a classically trained musician. Maia plays violin in the string quartet ‘In Praise of Folly’ and works for The Royal Opera House La Monnaie in Brussels. Harry and Maia met on stage on tour last year. They started writing songs together and released their first single ‘Time’ on Friday. I picked their single ‘Time’ as a bonus track to this week’s chart.

‘Time’ is a duet between Harry and Maia. Harry plays his guitar accompanied by Maia on violin. The song takes us on a journey, about freedom and travelling.

“You held my hand and we were on our way. We had a few chords and some words, the world was yours and mine.”

Harry and Maia will be releasing some singles from January onwards that are all part of an EP that is scheduled for the spring of 2021. I for one can’t wait for their EP.
